FILEMON & BAUCIS

We would like to offer you a stay in our house on the Greek island of Corfu, where we have two small studios - see the "studios" link (equipment, photos). The house is in an absolutely quiet area, but you may be woken up by a rooster, sheep, or a goat from the neighbors... It's not a suitable place for hosting a techno party, but it's perfect for a calm and relaxing holiday.

To get to a really beautiful, several kilometers long sandy beach with a gradual entry into the water, it's a 600-meter walk along a local road - along the way, there are three taverns and two shops. You can also take a walk of nearly a kilometer through an olive grove and over a cliff, with beautiful views of the sea. On the beach, you can choose whether you want to be in the busy part near restaurants and bars or a bit further away, where you'll be almost alone, with the option to swim topless or nude. In the main part of the beach, you can book sea trips with snorkeling and rent a kayak or motorboat. An advantage is that if you want to use sunbeds with umbrellas on the "organized" beach, just order a coffee, cocktail, snack, or beer, and you get them for free. In 2023, there was also an inflatable castle (not only) for children's fun near the shore. Corfu and the neighboring islands offer many opportunities for beautiful trips; if you're interested, we'd be happy to advise you where to go.

The nearest tavern with homemade cuisine is 80 meters away (you can order meals), and there is also a mini shop with basic groceries, another one is 250 m from us. Supermarkets LIDL and Masoutis are 4.5 km away.

In 2024, you can stay with us from 26 April to 30 November.. In the main season, i.e., from 5/6 to 25/9, we again offer weekly stays, in the cycle Wednesday/Wednesday. Of course, it's possible to extend the stay in the given cycle, even for the entire season. Outside the main season, you can stay anytime by agreement, regardless of the mentioned cycle.

At the top, there is a "select date" link with an indication of available/occupied dates. If you choose one, get in touch with us, and we will insert it into the table ourselves. It's not a classic reservation form but just an overview table.

For those who want to travel around Corfu more than stay on the beach, the weather is fine from mid-March to the end of May when everything is blooming, and then in October and November. It may rain occasionally in the fall, but you can swim at least until mid-November when the sea temperature is around 21°C.

The Greek Easter is very interesting, which in 2024 will be on May 5th. The week before, on Palm Sunday, there is a big celebration in Kerkyra, when the relics of the island's patron saint, St. Spyridon, are carried out of the church to the sound of many uniformed bands. On Holy Saturday (May 4, 2024), red terracotta pots with water are traditionally thrown from balconies not only in Kerkyra but also in places like Lefkimmi.

And why did we name our studios Philemon and Baucis? We were inspired by an ancient Greek myth and want to offer you the maximum possible, like the elderly couple Philemon and Baucis. In modern terms - we will try to provide an optimal price/performance ratio.
